As a key member of the Custom Flavor Solutions Division’s Commercial team, this position directs strategic efforts to win and maintain business in the area of Flavors, specifically sweet flavors and beverage segment. More specifically, this individual drives our strategic focus and execution to differentiate McCormick as a supplier of choice in our custom business to business segment. This position has direct accountability for customers, account management team and cross functional leadership to deliver results and priorities. Responsibilities include Cross functional Project Management, sales team development, go to market tools and priorities, business development and revenue growth:
Develops a strategic business plan to make McCormick a preferred supplier of flavors in the sweet and beverage segment
Maximizes opportunities and increase McCormick's share of our customer's flavor business nationally with core lists, key accounts as well as new customers
Leads, mentors and develops assistant account managers into future customer leads
Shares and drives adoption of best practices flavor sales across all regions.
Coordinates global counterparts for core and global customers
Collaborates with Marketing to develop go to market approach, sales-support materials and tools to drive customer engagement.
Develop commercial proposals for regional and global flavor RFP’s in sweet and beverage
Provides leadership and mobilizes efforts across functions (R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain) to optimize opportunities, improve cross functional execution and service to our customers.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in the Flavor industry
Minimum 5 years of Flavor sales
Experience in the engagement and management of customer specific requirements and initiatives
Strong technical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills to enable problem solving in the area
Experience effectively communicating with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers, including Senior Management
Strong business skills including presentation, negotiation, influencing, leadership and strategic planning
Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 35% of the time
Acceptable driving record including valid driver's license required
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related technical field
MBA or MS in Food Science or a related technical field
Product Development experience
Experience in custom sales
Proficiency in MS Office
Proficiency with SAP
