Location:
Crown Beverage Packaging, Fort Bend Plant # 060, 12910 Jess Pirtle Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Supervisor II / Facility Supervisor will closely monitor, identify and communicate problems in every phase of general maintenance of the Fort Bend Plant, including areas of carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanic, painting, general hardware, other minor repairs and cleanliness. Makes recommendations, performs repairs, replacement maintenance and implements preventive maintenance as established by Company procedures and guidelines.

Duties And Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

Design, implement and maintain preventive as well as predictive maintenance programs

Manage all processes and equipment to meet state & federal compliance requirements i.e. – RCRA, air permits, WWT discharge permits, OHSA safety standards, etc.

Facilitates and fosters a teamwork oriented philosophy

Plans and Oversees Capital Expenditure items including equipment purchases, contracted labor and in-house construction and fabrication projects

Provides on and off-hour emergency response including; equipment repair, damage control, and assignment of support personnel as needed

Keeps up on technological changes such as retrofitting machinery to meet today’s new laws and efficiency standards

Monitors the functions of service contractors and community repair and maintenance contractors Inventories and acquisitions maintenance supplies

On-Call availability for emergencies and projects as assigned by Plant Manager

Manages relationships vendors and contractors

Maintains shop, equipment rooms and storage areas in a neat, organized and secure condition

Collects samples from treatment processes and performs required analytical tests including but not limited to: total suspended solids, total solids, pH, chlorine residual, ORP, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and biochemical oxygen demand.

Performs volumetric calibration tests on chemical and sludge pumping equipment and process flow meters.

Utilizes a PC to enter process and effluent monitoring data into appropriate electronic files.

Understands and follows safe work practices and procedures and reports any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.

Coordinates and supervises activities of equipment and personnel throughout the facility with a focus on optimizing Safety, Quality, Productivity and Spoilage

Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.

Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing “fixes” on machinery and equipment problems

Applies knowledge of various processes, production methods and processes to improve plant production

Manages machinery set-up and adjustment and inspects products to ensure compliance to standards

Completes and/or administers necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, disciplinary actions, monthly SAFE cards, time and attendance, accident reports and process control sheets

Oversees all aspects of Facilities and Maintenance for the plant

Creates training programs for maintenance teams

Identifies & implements best practices, policies and procedure for maintenance teams.

Determines expectations for assessing property needs, safety issues, immediate needs, etc.

Creates materials and conducts training for long term maintenance items at properties. Example: boiler systems, water heaters, FAU’s, condenser units, roof repairs, asphalt, striping, tree trimming, etc.

Identifies opportunities for cost savings; light replacement programs, energy savings, water savings, etc.

Identifies roles and responsibilities, perform OJT training for different levels of maintenance position.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s level degree in manufacturing or related discipline and 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with modern equipment maintenance (TPM), high speed forming presses, electrical, chilled water systems, compressed air systems, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, printing presses and curing ovens

Demonstrated leadership and management skills – managing supervisors and hourly PM&R

Ability and desire to work in a team oriented environment

Experience in capital project management, handling vendors and contractors

Experience in managing repair expense budgets

Experience in implementing and maintaining a plant preventative maintenance program

Demonstrated ability, experience and understanding of CMMS, work orders and storeroom/spare parts processes

Approximately 10% overnight travel

Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support

Previous maintenance supervisor or three years property management maintenance experience required.

Preferred Requirements

Packaging industry experience

Certification in Six Sigma (Green, Black or Master Black Belt) and Lean Manufacturing desirable

Competencies

Skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint as well as various CAD software

Proven problem solving skills and experience using analytical approaches to problems

Project management experience

Proven oral and written communication skills

Effective interpersonal and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to completion

Ability to work effectively both as an individual and in a team environment using collaborative methods

Must be committed to ongoing personal training and development

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

Working Conditions

Will be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting in a plant environment as well as in an office

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic

The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
