Description: The Manager Total Rewards directs and coordinates the day-to-day Compensation, Benefits, Retirement, Wellness and Leave of Absence activities for the JPS Health Network; plans and conducts new employee benefits orientation; and plans and conducts annual enrollment activities. This role directs and evaluates work activities for the Compensation, Benefits, Retirement, Wellness and Leave of Absence team members. Typical Duties:
Directs the daily administration and operation of the JPS Network’s Health, Welfare, and Retirement plans and the JPS Physician Group benefits including but not limited to JPS Medical and Dental plans; Vision Plans; Health and Dependent Flexible Spending Accounts; Short and Long Term Disability plans; Basic Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) and Supplemental Life Insurance programs; JPS Pension Plan (defined benefit) JPS 403(b) plans, JPS Supplemental Retirement 401(a) plans (defined contribution plans), and the 457 governmental plan. Administers Leaves of Absences in accordance with policies and FMLA/ADA regulations.
Ensures compliance of all plans with all JPS Policies and Procedures, contractual terms, and federal and state regulations including but not limited to ERISA, FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, and COBRA. Ensures employee/employer premium contributions are collected and remitted from and/or to the appropriate parties as required.
Collaborates with benefit vendors to ensure benefits are administered in accordance with the plans provisions and all data exchanges between JPS and the vendor are provided in a timely and accurate manner. Partners with the Director to design, evaluate, and modify benefits policies to increase the quality of life for team members by working with brokers and researching benefits matters to ensure that programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements.
Prepares and distributes information to inform current and prospective team members about benefits and JPS benefits policies, including developing and conducting new hire orientation, annual retirement enrollment, annual benefit enrollment, and provides ongoing team member communication regarding benefits. Updates and maintains the benefits website with relevant benefit content. Establishes and maintains links to vendor websites.
Provides consulting services, advice, and recommendations to administration for formulating policies, procedures, and programs for JPS benefits. Administers benefit plans in accordance with stated benefit policies.
Manages the design and implementation of compensation and benefit services and strategies; prepares recommendations, and presents proposals for new and improved programs based on needs and government regulations.
Directs and evaluates work activities for benefits team members including Benefits Specialists, Retirement Specialist, and Compensation Consultants.
Identifies costs associated with managing JPS benefit plans; assists with analyzing and maintaining overall benefit costs while adhering to the benefits budget. Develops documented processes to capture and analyze cost and experience data for use in overall planning and benefit design.
Maintains and monitors vendor costs, utilizing existing JPS approved contracts system to ensure timely contract processing and maintenance. Prepares and processes monthly vendor billing in an efficient and timely manner; researches and resolves outstanding and/or disputed issues. Provides input for and manages vendor RFP process and selection.
Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field from an accredited college or University.
5 plus years of experience working with compensation and employee benefits plan design, analysis, and/or plan administration.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or University
