SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Responsible for certain administrative, procedural, financial, legal, operational, and quality improvement activities within Cincinnati Children's Hospital that are necessary to run the facilities and to support the core functions of the business relative to treatment and payment.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee translation of institutional strategic plan into yearly priorities and develop associated reporting mechanisms to track progress of plans. Lead the development and producing of the plan in timeframes as determined by Senior Management. Track and report to Senior Management on a routine basis the organization's progress to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. Provide, communicate and implement strategic, operational and programmatic plans and policies to achieve the mission, vision and values of Cincinnati Children's. Lead and/or assist in strategic and operational meetings, including agenda and materials preparation, facilitation of discussion, maintaining topic flow for completion of agenda, and eliciting definitive action plans.
Identify, evaluate and make fiscally responsible recommendations regarding resource needs for the department, to include finances, materials, human resources, capital and space. Prepare, coordinate, evaluate and manage annual fiscal operating and capital equipment budgets for the area. Monitor outcomes and the costs of services in order to evaluate, modify, continue or discontinue programs. Support internal controls to safeguard the financial, information and human resources of Cincinnati Children's.
Integrate and coordinate resources and operations of the various reporting units and divisions. Serve as the direct liaison to various senior leaders of CCHMC to promote the broader institutional success. Responsible for all planning and implementation related to accrediting requirements of the Medical Center and associated requirements specific to the Institute. Assess, develop, implement and maintain appropriate divisional policies, procedures, job descriptions and philosophy as consistent with Cincinnati Children's policies and values.
Be a conduit for communication and making connections to other institutional initiatives related to growth. Effectively demonstrate communication skills related to conveying relevant information. Develop and maintain efficient internal communication processes to support the activities of the department/program. Keep key leadership, administrative staff and other stakeholders fully informed of projected and actual developments in a timely manner. Participate and support improvement efforts of Strategy & Growth to improve overall communication, intake, integration and prioritization.
Coach and mentor personnel to enhance professional knowledge. Make job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provide sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency. Oversee succession planning for key roles. Provide mentorship and development to direct and indirect reporting staff. Maintain accurate payroll records.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10 years progressively responsible experience
Preferred:
- Master's degree in business or health administration
