Senior Financial Analyst Position

$75,000 - $100,000 base salary, plus bonus opportunity for up to 50% of base salary

EMA is looking for a senior financial analyst to provide accurate, timely and insightful operations and financial information on a company’s performance, solvency, profitability, liquidity and capital needs. The senior financial analyst is a key team member whose information and insights will be used to help the client make informed, data-based decisions regarding strategic decisions to optimize their efforts in improving the business, re-deploying resources, and attracting and investing new capital. Ideally:

  • 3-4 years business work experience
  • Strong Excel skills required with experience building integrated financial and cash forecasting models, including use of pivot tables.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Powerpoint)
  • Audit background from a CPA firm preferred
  • Financial planning and analysis exposure helpful
  • Research skills helpful
  • Excellent communication and people/team skills
  • Self-starter, eager to learn, strong organizational skills, multi-tasker
  • Willing to travel, primarily within the United States
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, business

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtaining, reconciling, consolidating and analyzing financial data
  • building multi-year financial models using Excel (including income statement, balance sheet, cash forecast, debt, borrowing base, supporting schedules, assumptions tables, and actual to budget comparisons)
  • preparing detailed operations and financial reports for management, shareholders, lenders and potential debt and equity investors
  • understanding consolidated financial reports, subsidiary and supporting ledgers and source materials
  • interfacing with client personnel (senior and junior) in stressful and fluid situations
  • assisting client personnel in identifying, gathering and organizing historic data
  • preparing sensitivity analyses
  • assisting in developing, explaining and implementing strategic plans
  • investigating variances to plan
  • preparing written reports documenting findings, trends and conclusions
  • conducting benchmarking, comparative analysis and trend analysis
  • evaluating financial results and providing conclusions and recommendations
  • keeping senior team members informed of status
