The Import Logistics Coordinator is responsible for leadership of the daily administration and operations for import shipments. This role will assist in maintaining compliance with U.S. Import rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor import shipments to ensure timely clearance and delivery of imported cargo.
· Oversee the preparation of the U.S. Customs import documentations.
· Coordinate with clearing agent and warehouse facility.
· Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
· Coordinate cargo movement based on client requirements in the most professional, cost-effective, efficient, profitable, and timely manner.
· Work directly with clients aiming to provide effective transportation solutions.
· Communicate with transportation vendors - from initial bookings through to negotiating contract rates to maximize department profitability.
· Provide and review price quotes to new and existing clients.
· Review customer documentation to ensure efficient and hassle-free transportation of goods.
· Prepare shipping documents.
· Responsible for bookkeeping including processing purchase order, invoices, order office supplies and equipment, customer collection and related activity.
Experience:
· 3+ years related experience in office administration and freight forwarding.
· Must have excellent ethical standards and positive attitude.
· Must be very detail oriented, organized, and able to work in a team environment.
· Must be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and calmly handle changing priorities under tight deadlines.
· Proficient in MS Office and QuickBooks programs.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Experience quoting and pricing is preferred.
