We are currently looking for a Chief Engineer to work in one of our remote production facilities in Alaska.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Manage skilled labor staff of up to 15+ machinists (excluding cannery machinists).
· Staff compliance with safety Policies of the Facility, (i.e. Lock out/tag out, Hazardous communications, etc.)
· Order parts/supplies for production equipment.
· Schedule maintenance on equipment, buildings and docks.
· Assist with budget for plant alterations/expansions; monitor labor/materials.
· Fuel facility maintenance, including regulatory inspection compliance.
· Lead HAZWOPER and plant safety teams.
· Maintaining the PSM for Ammonia program.
· Oversee safe operation of the facility and compliance with State and Federal regulations, governing employee safety & health, equipment design & operation, food safety & security and Environmental Compliance
· Monitor current policies and procedures are adhered to.
· Developing and organizing preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
· Coordinating construction projects, remodels, and other special projects.
Must have background in the following areas:
· Power generation, Hydraulics, Refrigeration Ammonia & Freon, Boilers, Pumps, Plumbing, Carpentry
· Cod & Pollock equipment including: Baader fillet and skinning machines, mincers, Trio skinners.
· Salmon equipment including: Coastline headers and gutters, rotary Cryovac, Ultra vac, Taiyo roe separator machines, Reiser Tray Form machine
· Surimi/Meal plant equipment
· Computer skills and PLC knowledge a plus, Excel & Word programs.
Successful applicant must have the ability to coordinate efforts with other department managers, motivate subordinates, and deal with people with diplomacy and tact, be a team builder, have effective verbal and listening skills, good organizational skills, and be detail orientated.
Full Benefits Package beginning 1st of the month following 60 days. While in Alaska, all meals, airfare, room and board provided. Must clear criminal background check.
