About Pacific Valves

Pacific® Valves, an operating location of CRANE ChemPharma & Energy that designs and manufactures highly engineered valves for power generation, refining, hydrofluoric alkylation service and delayed coker isolation.

Position Summary

Achieve profit and revenue goals as set out in the business plan. Achieve and maintain promised On Time Delivery performance as set out in the business plan. Support Distributed Products Group with planning and purchasing assistance whenever possible. Support Operational Excellence initiatives.

Principle Duties:

Project Bid Stage

  • Receive RFQs for Project Bids that include specifications
  • Understand bid due-dates and communicate to customer any issues with meeting requested bid due dates due to engineering backlog or other reasons
  • Maintain RFQ documents in Project Quotes folders
  • Communicate basic product details (liner and housing material) to engineering in order to get base BOM

Purchase Order Received

  • Upon P.O. award, ensure that deviations and clarifications are accepted and/or resolved in writing prior to proceeding
  • Hold Kick-Off meeting with stakeholders to communicate all technical and commercial requirements and to develop a comprehensive and accurate manufacturing plan based on the customers’ specifications
  • Ensure that documentation submittal requirements are understood and executed
  • Coordinate with Operations to develop a comprehensive and accurate production schedule which meets or improves on the customer’s requirements

Execution of Projects

  • Coordinate scheduling of tasks, deadlines and milestones for all assigned projects
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to complete customer inspection.
  • Track project status and milestone targets to assure schedule dates are met or develop appropriate actions to get back on track
  • Create detailed chart of milestones for all parties
  • Identify schedule uncertainties and risks and develop contingency plans
  • Efficiently and competently manage problems, i.e., scope creep, changed requirements, missed deadlines, etc., by developing appropriate countermeasures with assistance of key stakeholders
  • Evaluate deliverables prepared by the team to insure the work meets requirements
  • Visually track project status. Prepare reports for customer and staff on project status
  • Monitor (expedite as necessary) the production schedule
  • Act as Project Contact for customer questions and status updates

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing a world class projects department
  • Assist in developing the metrics by which the success of a project is evaluated
  • Participate actively in the OpEx and Quality processes including project team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities
  • Perform other duties as required

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • MS Project or Visio a plus
  • MS Office suite required
  • Highly skilled in verbal and written communication; effective organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while being flexible to the dynamic needs and changes of management and customers
  • Strong technical background preferably in a mechanical setting
  • BS Engineering/related field or equivalent experience; advanced education and/or related certifications are a plus
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated project management skills
  • 2- 5 years project management with industrial manufacturing experience and/or machining, welding, castings / forgings, etc.
