General Summary of Position
Works collaboratively with subject matter experts across the MedStar Health system and within MedStar SiTEL to create, evaluate and maintain engaging, meaningful education. These learning activities include the development of content for interactive online modules, simulation-based activities and live programs. The goal of these programs is to promote patient safety, improve clinical outcomes and create positive patient experiences.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams as appropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Encourages a MedStar Health system-wide approach to learning activities.

Identifies and promotes interprofessional learning opportunities.

Collaborates on the discovery process for requested learning activities, including early identification of outcome measurement opportunities.

Collaboratively recommends possible innovative learning approaches (including blending online, simulation, video and live events) to meet an identified need.

Collaborates on the acquisition of Interprofessional Professional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits, as needed.

Stays apprised of meaningful approaches to educational practices for healthcare associates.

Collaborates effectively with a team on the development, implementation and evaluation of learning programs that promote patient safety, improved clinical outcomes and positive patient experiences.

Serves as a resource/support for debriefing efforts.

Serves as project lead for identified programs.

Evaluates and modifies designated learning programs to promote high quality offerings.

Supports evaluation and research endeavors.

Participates in faculty development efforts.

Identifies and participates in professional development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
-
Associate's degree in healthcare related field plus more than 10 years of relevant job experience preferred or
-
Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field required and
-
Master's degree preferred
Experience
-
5-7 years Clinical experience that includes developing and implementing clinical training and education. required
Licenses and Certifications

Clinical licensure required
- CHSE - Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Attain Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification when eligible required
