Would you like to build VR/MR experiences that are at least a generation beyond? We’re looking for a 3D Artist/Animator to bring concepts to life, and to help design emerging platforms for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality. You will join a tight passionate team to work with cutting edge virtual and mixed-reality sorcery. You will be working on a project involving city skylines, future architecture, haptic thrills, and way-cool nerdy tech! This is the definition of uncharted territory, and a rare opportunity to help write the rulebook for a brand-new type of interactive experience. With Valence, you will be able to work in a collaborative environment where you can influence direction and see the impacts of your contributions. We love to innovate and are looking for people with a passion for building. This is a 3-month contract role with options to extend or flip to FTE in the future depending upon projects.

Act as lead 3D Artist/Animator for multi-skilled team delivering enterprise and consumer facing AR/VR solutions
Create immersive environments through optimizing architectural models as well as rig/animate 3D objects, and create ethereal dreamscapes to be used in a virtual reality application
Work with Visual Designers, Experience Designers, and Developers to meet key milestones
Provide input on AR/VR solutions that can be integrated into larger end-to-end solutions utilizing cloud, IoT, and machine learning technologies.
Ability to connect and collaborate on a daily basis with team members from various disciplines to guarantee visual and thematic consistency across the project.
We expect you to take smart risks and champion new ideas

You have 3+ years of experience in animation, rigging, lighting and rendering. Within this experience you have performed roles focused on environmental art. Prop and architectural art experience is a plus.
You are well-practiced in optimizing 3D assets to be low-poly for use in a mobile application. Ideally you are well practiced in 3D file conversion between file formats and programs (CAD files to .fbx or .obj will be required for this project).
Exceptional visual and technical understanding of rendering and asset creation. Show us your portfolio!
You like to collaborate and feel comfortable receiving and giving feedback to team.
Strong understanding of Maya/3DS Max/Blender/Cinema 4D.
Experience in texturing.
Strong understanding of optimizing for iOS and Android applications.
Ideally you have practice and knowledge and with creating 3D assets and animations for AR/VR apps.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in 3D Art or Design
