The Department of Revenue is currently recruiting for an Administrative Specialist 1 to join our Personal Tax & Compliance Division-Audit & Filing Enforcement Section in our Eugene field office. This is a full-time, SEIU represented position. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified applicants to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill other vacancies as they occur.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You Will be Doing:
Ensure taxpayer compliance with federal, state, and local laws, by performing filing enforcement activities and assisting auditors in the audit process or other compliance-related projects.

Compliance Section activities include auditing individual income tax returns, conducting in-depth examinations on businesses, locating individuals and businesses who are not filing tax returns and bringing them into compliance, collection of taxes from individuals and businesses, providing public assistance in cities where district offices are located, and coordinating on-going compliance projects.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent telephone communication with irate or hostile taxpayers or representatives by telephone.
Typical office environment.
Works on multiple tasks with tight and often competing timelines.
Extensive use of personal computer using analytical and reporting software.
Qualifications, Required & Requested Skills
Transcripts must be submitted to receive credit for education coursework at the time of application. It is highly recommended that you attach your transcripts as additional information in case it is determined you do not meet the qualifications based on your work experience alone.

Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of clerical/secretarial experience which included:
Two years at a full performance level performing typing, word processing, or other generation of documents AND lead work responsibility OR coordination of office procedures.
Courses or training in Office Occupations or Office Technology may be substituted for up to one year of the clerical/secretarial experience.
No substitution will be made for the two years at the full performance level.
