Senior Firmware Engineer

Job Summary:

Openwater is creating a next-generation imaging technology that can enable us to see inside our bodies in great detail. With this advancement comes the promise of new abilities to diagnose and treat disease as well as the possibility for breakthroughs in BCI, such as communication by thought alone. As a firmware designer at Openwater, you will work with teams across functional groups to help realize this vision.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Creation, bring-up, test/validation, maintenance, and enhancement of embedded Linux and RTL firmware. Ideal is a background with 5-10 years in creating the firmware for shipping innovative hardware/software products with novel imaging systems. This could range from a background in innovative/novel Lidar development to augmented reality, drone systems, or satellite networks. What is fundamental is a new novel architecture development for firmware.

Qualifications and Skills:

5-10yrs experience in the following areas:

  • Embedded Linux firmware architecture, development - all the way to high volume mass production.
  • RTL architecture, development (e.g. VHDL, Verilog) - all the way to high volume mass production.
  • Background as firmware person on innovative hardware/software/imaging systems for all performance.
  • Shipped at least 2 products at volume
  • Background in physics a plus
  • Able to do bench work in the lab
  • BS/MS EE required.
  • US Work authorization required.
