Design Engineer

Overview:

Quadratec is seeking a talented and highly versatile new member to join our world class product design and engineering team. You role will be to manage the design, sourcing, and initial quality assurance of various Jeep® parts and accessories components. Your contributions will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Working with our marketing team’s sketches and concepts to complete engineering designs or to modify existing designs.
  • Creating toleranced drawings, assembly drawings and BOM’s within specified timelines.
  • Fabricating proof-of-concept models in-house or by working with outsourced suppliers.
  • Identifying overseas and domestic product manufacturers in conjunction with our sourcing support partners.
  • Writing test plans and performing tests on design concepts and production parts.
  • Creating quality control documents in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO/TS 16949.
  • Performing initial quality control analysis, providing feedback to our manufacturers, and approving final product samples.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of automotive systems.
  • Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize.
  • Must excel in Solidworks® 3D design software. CSWP certification is a bonus.
  • Must be proficient at creating multi-body designs with tolerances.
  • Must possess strong communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment such as mills, lathes, welding, injection molding, tube bending and metal fabrication.
  • Must be proficient in material properties (metals and plastics).
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing and 3D scanning is preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in automotive industries preferred.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
  • 5+ years of related work experience

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time salaried position with medical benefits and 401k program.

Compensation will commensurate with experience and skill level.
