The Strategic Analysis Consultant performs complex financial planning & analysis in support of our company's strategic objectives.
Develop partnerships with multiple departments including Investment Management, Investment Solutions, Avantis, and/or Investment Operations
Prepare expense forecasts and analyze variances between actual and forecasted results as well as between the current and previous versions of the forecast
Identify and communicate significant uncertainties in forecasted financial results
Identify, track, and report Key Performance Indicators with an emphasis on productivity metrics
Prepare sensitivity analysis and analyze trends
Anticipate and provide solutions to complex finance and accounting problems
Analyze strategic opportunities including building financial models to evaluate potential investments in the business, such as product line expansions
Complete industry surveys including those that benchmark us versus competitors. Analyze and communicate survey results to management
Conduct competitor analysis including publicly traded competitors
Other potential responsibilities may include Compensation & Benefits forecast/actual analysis, leading the bi-annual employee shareholder presentation, reporting actual results versus forecast beyond partnership departments, new product financial modeling, and supporting a third party firm's regular valuation of our equity, debt capital raises, and/or the revenue forecast
Education & Experience
Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or economics
Minimum 10 years in financial analysis
Strong analytical abilities and intellectual curiosity
Able to craft financial models with minimal direct supervision using discounted cash flow models (break even of NPV calculations) and IRR; preparing financial forecasts and analyzing variances
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form with all levels within the organization. Actively participates and listens
Collaborates, supports efforts of team and offers assistance. Proactively builds and maintains effective relationships with peers and operating partners
Prioritizes, plans, and completes projects on time
Leads change by influencing management decisions
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and financial / statistical modeling
MBA, Certified FP&A Professional, CPA, CFA, CTP, PMP, or FINRA registration valued
Knowledge of Asset Management industry
System administration or other technical experience with applications for forecasting and reporting (e.g. IBM Planning Analytics)
