Position Summary :
As a Customer Connect Analyst, you will provide quality analytical support to our Category Teams in the areas of customer insights, assortment,pricing and promotions during scheduled category reviews as well as on an ad-hoc basis. Ensure timely and accurate completion of work and communication/collaboration with Category Leaders. Act as project lead on key assignments, ranging from tool implementation and training, to process adoption, to cross category analysis and strategy.

Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
Experience Desired: More direct grocery retailing with CRM, Marketing, Merchandising, Merchandising Support, Forecasting/Planning or Information Technology experience; Familiarity with analytical environments: including Excel and ideally SAS
Education Required: Bachelors Degree
Travel Required: Regional - Daily, Less than 10%
Utilize Customer Insights, Pricing, Promotions, Nielsen, ECRM, Retail Pricing and GE Reporting tools to prepare analytics for Category Teams during formal category reviews as well on an ongoing basis.
Provide analytics, interpret findings and act as an analytical "thought partner" as category teams make decisions on assortment, plan-o-grams, pricing, promotion, displays, marketing tactics, etc.
Monitor regular prices vs competition and strategic objectives, and provide recommendations along with "what-if" scenarios to category teams to ensure items prices are aligned with corporate pricing strategy and financial goals. Build, update and manage pricing rules within current systems and/or pricing tool to support the overarching pricing strategy for assigned categories.
Build and maintain in-depth knowledge on customer behavior, market trends, and price and promotions for assigned categories, including Giant Eagle and competitive market.
Become an expert user of Customer Connect, Pricing and Promotions tools, providing feedback on future enhancements and conducting user testing of new releases as needed.
Ensure timely and quality maintenance of the item information required for pricing, ensuring all pertinent information is maintained.
Conduct / facilitate store visits to both competitors and Company stores.
Measure performance of category to plan goals and objectives.
Lead and execute key projects as needed, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
