Orange County Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood and development education for residents through direct services, leadership, advocacy and collaborative partnerships.
Head Start is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of Program Manager for Education Services. This position is responsible for overseeing the Education Services Unit to ensure that quality of services are provided by the Field Operations Supervisors and the Center Supervisors; and to assist the Senior Program Manager of Education to review and analyze monitoring reports from internal and external data.
Supervise Head Start Field Operations Supervisor and evaluate their performance
Ensure that all teaching staff, Center Supervisors, Consultants, Volunteers and parents who have direct contact with children have adequate background screenings and certifications required and mandated for positions.
Monitor the Head Start Field Operations Supervisor to ensure compliance of local, state and federal regulations.
Complete the onboarding process for education staff to include interviews, selections and working with the Recruitment team to ensure all vacancies are filled.
Monitor, analyze and aggregate child outcomes to ensure compliance to the federal regulations and provide reports on a monthly and annual basis to stakeholders.
Assist with designing a structured approach to ongoing staff development which supports the individual needs of staff linked to their performance evaluations.
Obtain and maintain all program required certification such a CLASS, Director Credential, Staff Credential verification VPK, Supervisory Leadership and FEMA.
Assist the Senior Program Manager of Education to review, analyze and monitor reports from internal and external data
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education Leadership, Business Management, Organization Management, Child Development, Pre-Kindergarten/Primary Education, Elementary Education or closely related field and two years of supervisory experience working in an early childhood setting.
Experience working with a Head Start Program with advanced knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Florida State and local regulations.
Experience coordinating training programs and planning professional development for early childhood educators.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to think on your feet to solve daily work issues.
Hours per week: 40
Days of work: Monday – Friday / 8:00am - 5:00pm
The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment physical/drug test and a background investigation to include but not limited to fingerprinting and a polygraph exam. Favorable results must be obtained for employment.
This is a grant funded position and continued employment is based on the availability of funding. Loss or reduction of the grant funds may result in elimination of this position.
