United Way of Connecticut is based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. We are conveniently situated right off of I-91, and are close to many shopping plazas, restaurants and public transit.
Every hour of every day, people in Connecticut turn to United Way of Connecticut for help. We help people find and access the health and human services they need, including food, shelter, and other basic needs. We respond in the event of weather emergencies, natural disasters and family and personal crises of any kind. We assist parents and caregivers with finding the best child care for their family. If you’re an individual who wants to make a difference in the communities we serve, we have a Clinical Supervisor Adult Mobile Crisis position open on our Health & Human Services team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Clinical Supervisor Adult Mobile Crisis is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations and staff who handle Crisis Intervention Services requests in a 24/7 contact center environment. The Clinical Supervisor Adult Mobile Crisis ensures the delivery of quality service through call monitoring, case review and development of staff on a continual basis. The Clinical Supervisor Adult Mobile Crisis provides telephonic clinical consultation (including assessment, intervention, and stabilization services) for mental health-related crisis calls during non-mobile hours of operation. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor Adult Mobile Crisis is available for clinical consult with 2-1-1 Contact Center staff on an as-needed basis. This position strives to fulfill the mission of United Way of Connecticut (UWC) at all times while at work.
The Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (Full-Time)
The Pay & Benefits: Competitive $29.00 per hour pay rate PLUS shift differential.
An outright 8% 401(k) contribution (approximately $4,800 annually).

Master’s degree in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy or counseling with
Three years’ experience in delivering and overseeing community mental health services for children, families, and adults. This experience must include clinical crisis intervention, affording strong knowledge of and comfort level with working with high-risk clientele in crisis situations.
Clinically licensed in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling in the State of Connecticut (required).
Minimum of one year’s demonstrated supervisory experience in a clinical setting required.
Must obtain certification as an Information and Referral Specialist through the Alliance of Information and Referral and as a Crisis Worker through the American Association of Suicidology when eligible.
Maintains current CEUs required for clinical licensure on ongoing basis.
Knowledgeable about all 2-1-1 programs and critical data systems and services in addition to crisis intervention.
Knowledge, familiarity, and/or experience with contact center operations.
Demonstrated ability to train staff in crisis assessment and crisis stabilization.
Working knowledge of contact center technology and supporting software systems.
Proficiency with MS Office and subsidy program applications required.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Well-developed counseling and coaching skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties.
Ability to work and produce in a team environment and adapt to the changing needs within the department.
Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure.
Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups.
Solid critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Adept at conflict resolution and de-escalation of customer service issues.
Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with the UWC Mission.
