The Director Reliability & Operations Excellence is responsible for creating and driving the overall AMG Production reliability improvement program and for establishing an overall continuous improvement program across the entire production organization. Improving plant reliability is a key pillar of the Production Strategy and as such, this role is a key role in ensuring AMG’s success in delivering on improved reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Define, lead and drive the AMG Production Reliability Program including;
Structured vulnerability assessments at all locations (prioritized multiyear approach)
Define and develop the reliability projects arising from the assessments. Scope the projects and prepare the Capex justifications in line with the Production Strategy.
Project Manage the overall execution of the reliability projects. Ensure proper resources are identified and assigned, projects are scoped and scheduled and that progress is monitored and managed.
Develop an overall spare parts strategy and ongoing spares management program and process
Establish the framework for a long term sustainable approach to world class reliability within the operations.
Define the key metrics (leading and lagging) for plant reliability, set targets and work with the Zone Operations teams to utilize the metrics to drive key improvement actions.
Leverage existing systems as well as define and establish new improved systems and processes
Establish and develop Reliability as a core competency in the Production team
Develop and deliver training and supporting tools
Ensure the ongoing ownership of reliability, predictive maintenance and all related processes is firmly within the individual site teams
Lead the Reliability & Operations Excellence team
Establish the role of Reliability Engineer
Build the team as a center of excellence for Reliability
Build an overall structure for operations excellence by leveraging key methodologies
such as lean-six sigma and develop a program to build this competency in the organization.
Solution-oriented and highly organized with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Technical expertise in design and operations of CO2, ASU/Liquefier and LH2 plants.
Willingness and desire to work in small, fast paced teams that leverage resources from both internal and external sources to efficiently execute projects in a cost effective manner.
Competency in leadership and team management within challenging environments and with diverse stakeholders and contributors
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Sense of urgency and ability to address problems quickly when they occur.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Kite packages
Must be willing and able to travel - up to 50% or more.
Education and Experience
BS in Engineering/related field or equivalent job experience
Previous experience in the industrial gas industry is required
Minimum of 5 years of Project Management responsibilities
Minimum of 5 years of Operations Management
