This is an excellent opportunity for you to join NBBJ - Seattle in a Contract Analyst role.

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual with a minimum of five years of experience to fill the role of Contract Analyst in our Seattle office. This person will report to the General Counsel who is in Columbus, Ohio, and work collaboratively with two other Legal Team members also in Seattle. In addition to other responsibilities, Contract Analyst will serve as primary support for the firm’s Shanghai Office and Asia Pacific projects. Frequent collaboration between Legal Team members occurs so that the expertise of the entire team can be leveraged firm wide.

Your New Role:
 Contract Support:
Assist in managing workflow, review and negotiation of contracts for firm’s Shanghai Office and Asia Pacific projects according to established firm protocols.
Review and analyze domestic project-related contracts, Requests for Proposals, non-disclosure agreements, anti-bribery agreements, and vendor agreements according to established firm protocols.
Liaise with external counsel.

 General Legal Support:
Assist in various insurance related issues including management of insurance certificates provided to clients.
Support the General Counsel in all necessary and requested aspects, including the performance of administrative tasks (such as scheduling meetings with other firm executives, filing and assisting with travel planning) as well as traditional paralegal functions.
Maintain trademark and tradename filings.
Maintain meeting minutes for Compliance Committee and assist with monthly legal team Dashboard updates.
Maintain Legal Team’s SharePoint site.
Assist with documenting legal processes and protocols and creating internal legal education modules.
Attend Go/no go prospect meetings and report out to General Counsel.
Perform research and compile data, charts, and legal memoranda as required.
Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to create high quality business correspondence and legal documents that are clear, concise and effective.
Work well together with a highly collaborative legal team, as well as project teams and other internal functional groups, such as Finance, Marketing and Human Resources.

What you will need to Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a contract analyst or senior paralegal with a law firm or fast-paced, in-house legal department.
Experience with international transactions.
Strong Mandarin written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to adjust work schedule to accommodate contract negotiation calls in China time zone.
Ability to make periodic trips to Shanghai Office.
Ability to work in a fact-pace, collaborative environment, prioritize workload and time-sensitive projects with strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiently use Microsoft Office applications (Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe InDesign, along with a willingness to continue learning advanced tools.
Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction industry with knowledge of AIA contracts.
Excellent business/legal judgment to identify and assess legal risk and mitigate the firm’s exposure to legal liabilities.
Tact and good judgment in handling confidential information.
High degree of initiative, self-direction and ability to work well independently as well as with a team.
Open to receiving and learning from feedback.
