Comau is actively seeking a Welding Engineer to support the Materials and Technologies team. Their function will involve the development of new joining processes and failure analysis through laboratory based testing. The candidate will also as support the engineering and quality department on a regular basis. The candidate must have an acute sense of detail and understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:

Review new product plans and make recommendations for material selection based on design objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost
Analyze product failure data and perform laboratory test in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions
Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products in order to ensure their quality and records test results and operational data on specified forms
Determine appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials
Conduct metallurgical sample prep, micro hardness testing, and image analysis
Conduct destructive and non-destructive test methods utilizing MT, UT and PT
Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration
Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and corporate executives as necessary
Sets-up and operate welding machines that join or bond components to metal products or assemblies
Operate welding machinery to produce trial workpieces, used to examine and test
Examines metal product or assemblies to ensure specifications are met
Tends auxiliary equipment used in welding process
Tests products and Writing concise and accurate reports outlining data based conclusions
Ability to deliver completed work within time constraints
Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, and management
Other duties as required
