Under limited supervision, designs and develops engineering standards and test procedures to evaluate the function of simulation and planning software products and systems. Develops and implements procedures for product testing, reviews and evaluates test results, and recommends product or design changes to ensure quality and performance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the test and evaluation program across a suite of simulation and planning software applications that includes both legacy and modern web-based applications.
Defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets complex developmental tests for new and/or modified software products or product components.
Performs complex analysis and trouble-shooting when testing produces failure in order to provide detailed analysis to development team for resolution.
Evaluates progress and results of testing and recommends new methods to improve project design, procedures and performance.
Identifies opportunities for new program initiatives and follow-on tasking for current projects and participates in proposal efforts.
Acts as liaison between technical and non-technical departments, divisions, and organizations.
Prepares and assists others in the development of status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contact reports, technical analyses or other outputs needed.
Provides guidance to less experienced Test Engineers to encourage technical growth across non-technical personnel.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline plus 0 to 2 years of directly related experience.
In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by
market survey data.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering.
Understanding of web application architectures and technologies preferred.
Must hold and maintain, at minimum, an Active Secret security clearance.
