Uses CAE software tools such as, RADIOS, MADYMO, LS-DYNA, etc. to simulate and analyze the crashworthiness of vehicle structures. Creates full vehicle and vehicle sub-system finite element models. This can include interiors or exteriors of the vehicle, bumpers, roofs, doors, IP's, steering systems, etc. Performs analyses and oversees testing to assess vehicle crashworthiness of vehicle structures, occupant protection and/or restraint systems to meet FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) and third party assessment criteria. Use analyses results to develop design solutions to meet vehicle safety requirements and will communicate and present analyses results to various engineering organizations.
