The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for daily and other periodic accounting processes including support for the monthly close, annual audit, special analysis as well as preparation of data for decision making and reporting. This position will assist in the preparation, verification and maintenance for one or more accounting functions. May perform other basic clerical duties to support Finance department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, reconcile discrepancies and problems
  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset inventory
  • Add vendors and assist with vendor maintenance
  • Assist with preparation of monthly general ledger journal entries
  • Prepare documentation for audits
  • Data entry and general ledger coding
  • File, organize and maintain files either electronic or hard copy
  • Assist with various Accounting responsibilities

  • Proficient to advanced PC Skills including (but not limited to) MS Word, MS Excel, email, and internet .

  • Must demonstrate organization and prioritization skills to manage time
  • Detailed oriented team player who is adaptable to change
  • Ability to understand and interpret invoices, statements and other requests for payment
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and to multi task
  • Requires minimal supervision/ ability to work independently on assigned tasks and receive directive.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism
  • Ability to meet and deal effectively with associates, executive team and third party vendors with a high level of customer service

Education and Experience:

Education: In final years of Bachelor level degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience: General knowledge of basic accounting principles

Preferred: Working knowledge and experience with Great Plains Software
