Medical Assistant/Patient Service Coordinator:

Full-Time

Schedule: Wed 10am-7pm, Thurs 7am-7pm, Fri 7am-7pm

Duties:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
  • Provides emotional support to patients as needed; works to promote the patients comfort and assists in answering patient questions.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Verifies patient eligibility and collects fees as appropriate
  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
  • Coordinates referrals, pre-certifications and pre-authorizations
  • Schedules appointments for patients as needed and assist patients with electronic access
  • Documents data collection in the Electronic Health Record
  • Scan, copy and upload documents for EMR, patients and/or clients
  • Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs
  • May assist with collection and handling of laboratory specimens
  • May assist with intake including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, waist circumference measurement, height, weight, chief complaint, medication reconciliation and health history (if certified to assist)
  • Assist with audits and regulatory functions
  • Provides support for offsite clinics as needed
  • Provides any other services as required

Qualifications:

  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of software applications and familiarity with MS Office, electronic health records, internet, and mobile applications
  • A friendly personality with good people skills including team collaboration
  • Diploma or certificate from accredited program/school for Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • Current BLS CPR certification (preferred)
