Autism Speaks is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide strategic HR support to their Field Development, Corporate Initiatives and Individual Foundations departments.
What will your day to day look like?
Addressing and resolving employee relations issues, implementing policy and procedures, recruiting new talent, driving performance management processes and driving a positive inclusive and welcoming workplace culture for all.This role will also collaborate with the Human Resources team to complete major departmental projects.
The Human Resources Business Partner will work remotely and travel into our New York office several times a year - no earlier than June 2021
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work alongside Senior HR Director to build Autism Speaks employer brand in being a Best Nonprofit to Work for.
Serve as a business partner to hiring managers on full-cycle recruitment process for part-time and full-time, temp and intern hires throughout the country, in order to attract the most qualified candidate for their team.
Conducting skill assessments of Autism Speaks core competencies and job specific competencies that demonstrate employee skills needed to perform the position.
Periodically post LinkedIn content to build Autism Speaks employer brand.
Researches current trends related to internal and external Talent Acquisition strategies.
Builds applicant pipelines to meet current and future business needs using LinkedIn recruiter and applicant tracking system.
Conduct engagement and exit surveys to further enhance our culture in order to attract and retain staff.
Periodically support Senior HR Director to conduct a review of all HR processes and policies to ensure all policies are equitable (i.e. Handbook, Compensation Program, Org Design review process, Recruitment program etc.).
Support the planning and facilitation of Diversity and Inclusion HR communications, observances etc.
Provide consultative expertise on employee relations matters ranging from basic to complex or high risk.
Assist with the development and facilitation of ER-related training.
Share employee relation trends and share training needs with Senior HR Director and Training and Development Director.
Partner with management to develop and retain staff; and aide in succession planning to promote internal job placement.
Assist with annual review of employee handbook.
Serve as back-up for benefits operations manager.

Minimum of 5-7 years of HR experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations
Minimum of 2 years working for a multi-state employer in an employee relations role
Minimum of 2 years of recruitment experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Basic understanding of federal labor laws required
Experience using LinkedIn preferred
Experience with ADP Workforce Now or technical experience with other HRIS system preferred
Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office Suite Excel required
Actively engaged member of team-oriented work environment; consistently displays positive manner
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters/situations
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
