We have an immediate opening for a Budget Analyst working for a leading research and healthcare organization in Irwindale, CA. The Budget Analyst job is focused on analytics, report creating, and variance analysis. This is a contract to hire opportunity and full time salary is $58K. The position is visible and will be working with philanthropy, corporate accounting, operations, and key management. Duties include generating reports, preparing documents, gathering and compiling background material, scheduling appointments, and drafting meeting agendas and minutes. Will maintain a highly complex filing system, maintain and update databases.

This staff member will perform a variety of professional, administrative, and financial duties and analysis functions in support of the day-to-day operations for the philanthropy group. Assists in resolving problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department and budget attainment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Work with staff members in the Philanthropy Group in resolving budget issues, monitor/update expense hierarchy matrix, interpret policies, expense workflows, and procedures to various staff members

Assist finance with monitoring, documenting, and maintaining data for any changes or variances to budgets and related reports. Maintain department's projects/tasks status, target and completion dates

Review events/appeals request forms to ensure compliance with budget policies. Track, maintain, and validate comprehensive events and appeals listings

Work with Corporate Accounting and ERP team in fully setting up project codes and appropriate funding restrictions for all requested events, appeals, and group activities

Tracks and monitors departments help desk queue, assign to specific team members as appropriate.

Run data reports from the fundraising, expenses, and contracts databases and manage corresponding files. May be asked to compile statistical data or create charts and graphs from information

Works with multiple staff and coordinates special projects and initiatives related to the department. Researches topics, analyzes data, and creates PowerPoint and other graphic presentations as needed

Periodically collaborate with the finance and resource management team in the preparation of both narrative and financial reports in relationship to financial and performance reporting

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related degree from an accredited University or College
Three (3) years experience in budget analytics, tracking, and reporting
Must have solid interpersonal and communication skills to work across the organization and on project teams
A background in accounting and finance for routine reconciliation and reporting tasks is required
MS Office Professional with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and PowerPoint presentations required
Business Intelligence and software fluency required to work through a variety of ERP and proprietary software systems
A background in healthcare, hospital, and/or philanthropy a plus but not required
