Responsible for the efficient operation of all operating boilers and auxiliary machinery. Observe meters, test equipment, and maintain records, documents and logs.
1. Operate and maintain high pressure boilers. Perform boiler water testing and boiler blow down to assure the efficient operation of the power plant. Monitor efficient operation of equipment by observing meters and gauges. Operate and monitor chillers in Central Power Plant. Maintain records, including but not limited to: boiler and chiller operating logs, water treatment records for boiler and air conditioning systems, fuel consumption records and work orders.
2. Lubricate all power plant machinery as required and perform preventative maintenance.
Job Qualifications Required
High school diploma or trade school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two to four years related power plant work experience.
City of Providence Stationary Engineer’s license required.
Ability to maintain detailed logs and maintenance records required.
Ability to read gauges and meters.
Ability to work with vendors/suppliers and an understanding of OSHA standards and safety practices.
Job Qualifications Preferred
Basic computer skills preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment background screening requirements.
