Job Overview:
Celtic Engineering, Inc., is a leader in structural and specialty engineering within the Entertainment/Hospitality and mechanical/machine engineering industries, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to represent our US operations. Scopes of work will be primarily US based but not limited to overseas opportunities. The role will require a portion of business development tasks along with general engineering responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated currently active professionally-licensed professional engineer (PE) in the State of Florida who will lead technical scopes of a project with minimal supervision, executing responsibility for the detailed analysis and/or design of structural components and systems associated with facilities and nonbuilding structures.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead tasks in your expertise, nurturing project and team leadership skills. You will also have the option to grow further as a technical expert or develop further into Project Management.

Your Contributions to Our Team:
Lead the engineering gravity and lateral system selection and layout, and the technical analysis, assessment, and design for the project. Plan workflow and manage the execution of the engineering work
Determine codes, loads, analysis methods and engineering tools appropriate for the project and project staff
Lead and encourage creative formulation of designs, evaluation of alternatives
Leverage your comprehensive design and analytical experience with different building materials including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry.
Preferred but not required: working knowledge of design and analysis with fiber reinforced polymers, aluminum, and stainless steel, experience with seismic analysis and detailing, experience with analysis of dynamic structures, vibrations, fatigue.
Mentor junior engineers working under your direction.
Proactively plan and execute work with increasing levels of engineering responsibility.
Demonstrate engineering creativity, flexibility, and adaptability to satisfy the client and the engineer’s obligation to the public.
Supervise the production of structural drawing packages, sketches, and engineering reports
Oversee and contribute to the production of site observations, conditions assessments, and construction administration.
Manage and perform engineering analysis and calculations including industry-leading structural analysis software packages
Lead construction administration and site observations
Creatively work with clients for existing structures to lead their evaluation, retrofitting & rehabilitation needs to breathe new life into these structures
Champion thorough checking and QAQC of work under your direction
Registered with the Institution of Structural Engineers (Chartered preferred)
10+ years minimum experience working with FL Building code, IBC-style building codes and/or Eurocodes
Working or proficient knowledge with at least one: SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D or substantially similar structural analysis software suites.
Excellent problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and communication abilities.
Robust familiarity with construction processes and construction management methods, and detailed ability to assess the constructability of engineering solutions
Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) is preferred but not required. Celtic Engineering works most often in Revit and AutoCAD.
Ability to interpret and design using codes and standards from international jurisdictions is preferred but not required.
