As an Associate Financial Consultant, you will be responsible and accountable to develop long-term customer relationships through outbound calling to prospects and current clients with less than $250K in assets to develop a book of business. Are you passionate about mentorship and financial planning with clients? Do you enjoy collaborating with others and achieving their personal and professional goals? As part of our sales team, we will provide you an opportunity to work with diverse existing clients! Based on distinct needs, you will educate clients on an array of services and solutions. This outbound sales position is responsible for self-generating new opportunities within an assigned set of clients by establishing trust and rapport with American Century Investments’ clients and prospects to build long-term relationships.
Strong sales experience, financial sales experience preferred
Strong time management to balance all components of the sales process from prospecting to post sale follow up and reporting
Effectively run a pipeline of leads and prospects
Prospecting based on leads from strategic partners, internal scoring models, campaigns and self-generated leads
Run an opportunity pipeline from lead generation to close through effective qualification and conversion
Identify, execute and follow through on opportunities to gather new and additional client assets by engaging in client-centered discussions
Achieve focused business/sales goals as defined by the needs of the business at both a team and individual level
Maintains a deep disciplinary knowledge of American Century Investments products, services, policies and procedures.
Use data and insights to build effective outreach efforts
Adhere to compliance/risk procedures while maintaining the client’s best interest
Provide outstanding service in a professional manner
Highly motivated, self-starter
Driven and thrive in a fast pace environment
Demonstrated practice of a sales process including prospecting, profiling, assessing needs, presenting solutions and closing
Excellent communication, presentation and consultative selling skills
Ability to have educational/guidance-based conversations to help clients make informed investment decisions with respect to their financial planning goals
Exhibits capital markets and competitive knowledge: compare, contrast and communicate American Century products with competitor products
Utilizes effective time management/prioritization skills and uses resources to improve results
Adaptable to the evolving needs of clients, systems and internal business model
Systems proficiency including Seismic, Salesforce, Microsoft Office
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
Sales acumen with proven experience consulting with customers or clients
Effective phone and email communication skills
Solid understanding of qualified plans, preferred
Series 7 and 65 or 66 required
