CASA of Gratiot County is a program of Child Advocacy that looks out for the best interests of abused and neglected children as they make their way through the family court system. CASA accomplishes this by recruiting, screening, and training volunteer advocates to speak on behalf of children in Gratiot County.
Be the voice for a child in need! CASA empowers everyday citizens to speak up for children who have been abused or neglected!
In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children will often slip through the cracks. A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) represents the best interest of abused, neglected and deprived children in court proceedings within our community. A CASA serves as the eyes and ears of the court by providing information that the judge needs in order to make a decision that is in the child’s best interest.
We believe every foster child needs a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to watch over them and advocate on their behalf until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home.
