The Expediter will be responsible for collaborating with our manufacturing facilities and our office locations to coordinate and expedite materials. This position will be primarily based in St. Louis, MO, approximately 60-75% of the time; the remaining time will be spent at our Red Bud, IL location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable for coordinating and expediting of product deliveries; responds to requests for status of material from internal and external customers; confirms PO receipt by vendor, proactively resolving issues accordingly, reviews trouble queues, update expected arrival dates of material.
Coordinate with buyers, engineering, and logistics regarding the prioritization of open orders.
Work with suppliers to meet requirements and resolve minor scheduling issues with suppliers.
Assist with maintaining purchase order records and detailed records of supplier status and ship dates.
Assist in supplier database management.
Assist Buyers with various questions, supplier and vendor issues, and other related discrepancies.
Review and respond to internal receiving/invoicing discrepancy requests/trackers.
Recommend alternative sources of supply and or delivery methods when supplier delivery dates cannot be met.
Serve as a liaison between Purchasing, Receiving, and Accounts Payable departments.
Responsible for investigating and resolving discrepancies between vendor’s invoices and Purchasing, Receiving and end user department’s records.
Assist in the procurement of correct products and services on time, at the best cost, quality and quantity.
Travel frequently between our St. Louis, MO office and our Red Bud, IL manufacturing facility.
Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a back-up buyer with the possibility of being responsible for a commodity.
Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work is performed in an office and uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 30-50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to sit 50% of the time and stand/walk 50% of the time.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing setting, in a warehouse setting, or working in a related position is preferred.
Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, or related principles is preferred.
Strong math skills are required.
Excellent communication skills; both oral and written is required.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to effectively lean and acquire new knowledge and skills.
Strong computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
Ability to effectively interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
