Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate
Position Reports To: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor/Warehouse Supervisor
I. Summary
This job reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor/Warehouse supervisor and is responsible for fulfilling and shipping customer orders and receiving finished goods.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Pick and stage orders in accordance with the associated pick sheet
· Communicate with the appropriate personnel when orders are short product
· Ensure that every order is double checked against the BOL before loading
· Ensure that product is clean, in good condition, and is in compliance with Gurtler and regulatory standards
· Take pictures with department camera of all outgoing loads
· Ensure that trucks are loaded in accordance with department and regulatory standards
· Properly and safely operate sit-down propane forklift and other department equipment and tools
· Maintain cleanliness of warehouse, warehouse docks, and equipment
· Ensuring that all paperwork is completed correctly, in a timely manner, and is handed over to the appropriate personnel
· Assist inventory coordinator with daily cycle counts
III. Requirements
To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability that is required for the position.
· Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
· Must possess current forklift operator certification (electric pallet jack certification is a plus)
· Familiarity with DOT hazmat regulations – 49CFR (labeling, placarding, chemical segregation, etc.)
· Familiarity with OSHA/HazCom safety requirements
· Chemical experience beneficial
· Adherence to all safety guidelines
· The ability to be flexible and work overtime on short notice

· While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and smell.
· The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
V. Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Forklift Certification (required)
· HazMat Training (a plus)
· Highschool Diploma/GED (required)
