Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center, located in Okoboji, IA - Iowa's Great Lakes Region - is seeking an ambitious and organized leader for the Kitchen Manager position. This hotel has 100 guestrooms, 23K sq ft of conference function space, an upscale yet casual dining facility overlooking the picturesque 27-hole Brooks National Golf Course, also only steps away from beautiful East and West Lake Okoboji! This is an extremely popular resort tourist destination located in the upper midwest, 90 minutes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 3.5 hours from Des Moines, Iowa, and 3 hours from Omaha, Nebraska as well as Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota. The region is a pocket of culture and extremely high traffic vacation activity for part of the year, and true rural living for the remainder of the year. Our on-site restaurant, Minervas Restaurant and Lounge, is one of the most popular restaurants in the region and has a longstanding tradition of consistent, quality service and product.

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef with general oversight and success of the Kitchen Department from a service standpoint to a staff development standpoint to a product improvement/consistency standpoint and presentation standpoint to a financial performance standpoint. Direct Reports include the Line Supervisor(s), Cooks and all other kitchen staff. This management role reports directly to the Executive Chef and indirectly to the Food and Beverage Director. Those who prove themselves have strong potential to be presented with advancement opportunities relatively rapidly with this company.

Prior experience in a leadership role in a catering or high volume upscale casual dining environment is required. Demonstration of a solid, consistent work history as well will be required. Completion of a high school diploma is required. Applicants with prior applicable experience in a hotel/conference center environment are preferred, though not required.

Necessary strong qualities will include organized and strong leadership skills, organizational skills, planning skills, coaching skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required as those periods tend to be the nature of the business, simply put, however, are not always required. Attention to detail, product consistency, maintaining cost controls, and staff training are all important qualities necessary.
