Do you want to you use your deep understanding of the directional drilling space to introduce new technology, dramatically improve drilling, and leapfrog the competition?
You can do that here. GroundMetrics’ patented eQube™ sensor can operate where traditional EMT systems struggle or don’t work at all. The eQube™ sensor system is proven for reservoir monitoring and is now being integrated for better EMT/MWD where we’ll drastically improve data rates for faster directional drilling. We’re taking on tough challenges and breaking through walls to get the job done!
In this role, you’ll drive the integration and launch of the eQube™ electromagnetic (EM) sensor for better MWD telemetry. You’ll lead the commercialization of the eQube™ sensor for directional drilling, drilling optimization, and Geosteering applications. You’ll define and quantify the market and will develop and drive the market entry plan for our sensors in dual telemetry MWD applications. You’ll identify technical and market factors that can expand or limit value proposition of our sensors for EM telemetry while drilling. You’ll collaborate with the engineering team to define system requirements and will help find the necessary off-the-shelf technology and engineering talent to assist with system integration. You’ll use your network to help coordinate system tests and pilot programs. You’ll guide internal planning and research, senior management and board level communications, external business development and sales, plus marketing and operations support.
What experience will help get you there?
You’ve spent your career in oil and gas and are an expert in directional drilling. You’ve led multiple commercially successful product development and launch projects and future paced product enhancements throughout the process. You’ve owned financial and operational success of BHA or drill string products or services. You have a broad and deep technical, operational, and business understanding of complex MWD drilling systems and have an existing network within the directional drilling service providers, regional drillers and operators.
You have developed and managed strategic partnerships or key third parties. Your experience with strategy development, strategic leadership, business development has resulted in you leading a business unit for a large O&G service provider or being in a C-Level position at a smaller company in the space.
Who are you?
You are RESOURCEFUL. You have a BIAS TO ACTION and break through walls to get things done. You OWN your business and embrace responsibility to deliver results. You continuously CREATE VALUE through quality, on-time delivery.
You are a creative and pragmatic problem solver. You thrive on moving and failing fast because you know that is the fuel for innovation. You are persistent, tenacious and comfortable with unknowns and uncertainties. You are results and solution oriented and maintain a winning attitude.
You are an experienced, entrepreneurially-minded drilling executive who wants to work in a fast-paced, game-changing, high-tech start-up setting.
The location of the position is flexible, but most likely you’re located in Houston, Denver, or Calgary and have past work experience in the Permian or Appalachian basins.
Who are we?
San Diego-based GroundMetrics is an early stage, fast growth company commercializing cutting-edge electromagnetic sensor system technologies and data analytics for underground exploration and production. We offer advanced underground surveying and imaging technologies, primarily to the oil, gas, geothermal and carbon sequestration industries, but the core technology is truly a platform that extends well beyond those industries. Our unique technologies and innovative approaches unlock new applications and markets. www.groundmetrics.com
What we’ve done!
GroundMetrics has invented, developed, and patented the eQube™ – the only onshore low frequency capacitive electric-field sensor available. The eQube™ can be placed directly on top of the surface, making it easy to deploy and ideal for areas where the ground is too hard to penetrate, like hard rock and concrete. It can be deployed over the lateral path of a well, is orders of magnitude more sensitive than traditional EMT methods, and is 100x more stable than other sensors. GroundMetrics has also invented and developed a new borehole casing source method (patented), the Eos™ – the only EM sensor integration with a wireless seismic data recorder (enabling the only real-time, in-field EM quality control system), and the Imon™ – the most accurate source waveform monitoring system in the world. We’ve applied machine learning techniques in a new way to take full advantage of large, diverse EM datasets. Next we plan to invent and implement new EM inversion methods and commercialize new applications such as casing integrity diagnostics, carbon capture and storage monitoring and more. All of our technologies are grounded in both computational modeling and the large volumes of onshore EM data we have acquired (1 million measurements and counting).
