Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for a Director, Quality Improvement to join our Quality Improvement team!

Summary: Manages the Health System's Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement Program to enhance the quality and safety of patient care. Provides system analysis of performance improvement initiatives to facilitate and benchmark for the provision of high quality, cost effective patient care. All team members of Southeast Georgia Health System will promote a culture of safety, follow established policies, and adhere to all state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission requirements, and national patient safety standards.

Plans, develops, implements, manages and annually assesses the effectiveness of the Health System's Performance Improvement Plan, quality assurance programs, quality management programs, and compliance with Core Measures and the National Patient Safety Goals. Prepares presentations for various medical staff functions, departmental and Medical Executive Committee reports, and reports of performance improvement teams and committees utilizing performance improvement tools, techniques and statistical applications. Reports as needed to the Medical Staff Departments, the Medical Executive Committees, the Advisory Board and the Hospital Authority. Coaches medical staff members and hospital staff in report development and presentation. Maintains an organized tracking of committee and PI/QM reports to assure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. Oversees and facilitates various Health System committees including the Quality Committee of the Hospital Authority, the Patient Care and Safety Committees, PI teams, and Policy & Procedure Committee, including the management of the PolicyTech system. Performs a gap analysis of the Health System compliance in response to Sentinel Event Alerts and actively participates in the Sentinel Event Root Cause Analysis process.

Obtains and provides data as needed for hospital operations related to issues such as patient satisfaction, patient safety, infection rates, mortality rates, and complications through internal and external databases, benchmarking when appropriate.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.

The ideal Director, Quality Improvement should possess the following minimal qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Five (5) years health care related managerial experience required.
RN, RHIA, or CPHQ preferred.
Must be able to plan, develop, implement and evaluate programs.
Proficient in statistical analysis and data submission.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in computer skills, the ability to work with diverse groups and proficiency in the operation of audiovisual equipment.
