We are seeking a Diet Tech to join our Nutrition Team in a continuous care retirement community in North Wales, PA.
Processes diet orders as provided by nursing team for skilled long term care residents and short term rehabilitation patients.
Maintain all files related to resident/patient census and diet/snack information.
Completes all required documentation, reports and logs in a timely, professional and thorough manner.
Works with the TCU hospitality team to visit all new admissions and review available dining programs/options.
Update census information for TCU Hospitality team.
Process meal tickets and snacks labels for skilled areas
Review and verify meal selections on the short term Rehabilitation unit.
Complete meal rounds on the short term Rehabilitation unit to monitor and insure meal satisfaction.
Communicates patient care and food service issues to the department and management team.
Communicates diet updates to the TCU Hospitality team.
Monitor tray assembly for short term Rehabilitation unit insuring accuracy of meals.
Complete tally process for short term Rehabilitation unit and communicate information to the production team.
Conducts nutrition screening on short term Rehabilitation unit with direction of the Registered Dietitian
Assists Registered Dietitian with patient data collection such as food and nutrition history, client history, biochemical and anthropometric data, medical tests and procedures.
Provides basic nutrition education to patients
Documents nutrition care in the medical recors, under direction of the Registered Dietitian
Adheres to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regualtions and resident rights policies
Complies with federal and state regulatory standards
Communicates effectively with all team members , patients and families
Orients and trains staff, as applicable
Credentialed as a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) - REQUIRED
One year of community living experience preferred.
Supervisory experience desirable.
ServSafe® certified desirable.
Experience with computers and programs including Microsoft Office Suite required.
