**Job Overview:**
The Director of Accounting is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounting function of the our non profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on financial management, analysis, and strategic planning. A thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and QuickBooks experience is a required. The candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office. The Director will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective cash management.
**Duties:**
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the company's financial position, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting changes to enhance financial performance.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and complete financial records, and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure financial integrity.
- Analyze financial data, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, to identify trends, areas of risk, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Provide technical accounting expertise to support the company's financial operations, including double entry bookkeeping and financial analysis.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity to meet the company's financial obligations.
- Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's business objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting specialist, ensuring that all accounting functions are performed in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Develop and manage the accounting budget, ensuring that expenses are properly accounted for and that budgetary targets are met.
- Submit all invoices to the grant sources in a timely manner each month.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations, ensuring that the company remains compliant and takes advantage of available benefits.
- Present at Board Meetings and provide feedback on financial inquiries.

Pay: Up to $55,000.00 per year
