The Informational & Operational Technology (IT/OT) Central Systems Manager leads the team responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining OT digital solutions and the associated datacenter/server infrastructure for the Global Digital Solutions department, within the Digital Hub Renewables division. This role cultivates strong customer and stakeholder relationships in order to ensure the quality and value of digital solutions delivered.
The activities span across a variety of systems: Control Room SCADA system, operational data management platforms (e.g. OSI PI, data collection from drones), and IT/OT tools used to monitor and manage asset health, configuration, compliance, etc. The role includes management of data center hardware and services, server administration, SCADA/Industrial Control Systems, support of regulatory requirements, and coordination of work with the Network team as required.
Responsibilities include coordinating activities in a highly regulated environment (NERC/NERC CIP) in close cooperation with the Cyber Security team.
Responsibilities, include, but not limited to leading the team through the following projects and tasks:
System maintenance, back-up, patching, incidents, requests, and user management;
Evolution plan and asset lifecycle for OS, hardware, and software;
System configuration and version management;
Integrate new software platforms and functionalities;
Integrate new Company plants into EGPNA systems;
Develop new technology through test and proof of concepts until implementation of scalable solutions, etc.;
Migration and decommission of systems.
Other overarching responsibilities include:
Establish and maintain a close relationship with business units and stakeholders to deliver relevant solutions matching the business needs and priorities;
Coordinate work regarding incidents and requests with the OT Service Delivery unit;
Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure operation of the systems per requirements;
Implement, communicate and enforce work procedures and policies to execute and document work in order to ensure quality, tracking and compliance;
Overall coordination of the team and priorities, management of stakeholder’s needs, management of internal resources;
Define and track budget related to the activities and ensure cost efficiency;
Manage contracts related to vendors and service suppliers;
Define strategic technology roadmap;
Provide support for implementation of actions related to regulatory compliance, including NERC/NERC CIP;
Manage work schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on-call.
This position will manage direct reports.
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls or Computer Science, Master’s degree preferred;
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in IT System administration, software application development management, SCADA system integration and maintenance;
Experience in managing an IT/OT team with proven leadership;
Relevant experience with large scale IT/OT systems in critical and regulated environment;
Experience in control systems design, implementation or maintenance;
Strong networking fundamentals;
Extensive knowledge in IT administration: DB admin, MS Windows server, Linux, VMware;
Experience in managing material and service contracts;
Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Excel Macro;
Ability to be on call in a rotation scheme 24/7 outside of work hours;
Valid driver’s license operable in all 50 states and Canada;
Up to 30% of domestic travel and 10% of international travel.
Expert in industrial communications: Modbus, ICCP, IEC104, DNP3, OPC, etc.;
Experience in Cloud infrastructure management and design;
Programming skills: C, C++, Java, WebServices, APIs, etc.;
Familiar with ABB Network Manager SCADA/GMS/EMS;
Experience with OSI PI system administration and data analytics programs;
Familiar with energy, utility and/or renewable energy business;
Experience with North American ISOs, their operations and data protocols;
Previous exposure to NERC CIP standards will be highly regarded.
