We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Tours Manager to lead our tours and provide exceptional customer service to our clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering tours that exceed our guests' expectations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for travel, tourism, history and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Responsibilities**
- Plan, organize, and lead tours and crew ensuring that all guests have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of local history pertinent to our tour and knowledge of local events and shopping and dining options in Berlin to recommend to guests.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise during the tour.
- Manage and coordinate staff schedules to ensure staffed properly for each tour.
- Develop and implement effective time management strategies to ensure that all tours are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Educate guests about the history, shopping and dining options of the area providing them with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the location.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of the tours, gathering feedback from guests and making recommendations for future tours.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and ensure that all guests are provided with a safe and enjoyable experience.
**Requirements**
- Proven experience as a tour guide or in a related role with team management experience
- Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in customer service and the ability to handle any issues that may arise during the tour.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to educate guests about the destination and its cultural norms.
- Familiarity with local attractions and events.
- Willingness to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Mechanically inclined individuals strongly encouraged to apply
- Ability to travel to our Frostburg location for 1 week of training and orientation
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
