SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
The position handles various aspects of accounting for the firm. As such, he/she has a direct responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts, administering and processing Accounts Payable, administering all aspects of billing/collections, preparing journal entries and posting to the general ledger, cash accounting including receipts and bank reconciliation, and producing various accounting and financial reports. The senior staff accountant works under the supervision of the firm partners.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA eligible preferred, but not required) minimum of 2-4 years of experience in public accounting. Supervisory skills are a plus, as to oversee staff accountants and interns. The position also requires strong expertise with accounting software and QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft software including Word, Access, and Excel. Solid written and verbal communication skills, ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working with a diverse staff are essential to successfully carry out the duties of this position.
