Regional Technical Sales Leader - South East
La Leonessa of North America, Inc., headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, is the fully owned subsidiary of international industrial group, Leonessa Group, involved in design, manufacture, and sales of specialized power transmission components with applications in a broad range of mechanical industry sectors.
The Sales Team has a strategic objective of achieving significant growth in the North American (NA) market with ambitions to triple its turnover over the next 3 years.
We are currently seeking a Regional Technical Sales Leader to join our NA Team and having responsibility for one of the macro-regions across the NA Territory for which our Sales Team is covering and the candidate resides.
The position will report directly to the VP Sales and Strategic Business Development.
Following we detail the list of the core activities pertaining to the role. Due to the fact that the structure is developing and ever-evolving, the candidate must show the ability to take over additional responsibilities on a temporary basis whenever needed or instructed by the manager. Based on the skill and profile of the candidate, such a temporary task might turn into a permanent assignment, thus contributing to her/his professional development.
The job description related to the role pertains, not exhaustively, the accomplishment of the following tasks:
- Develop a solid command of technical aspects concerning portfolio products
- Identify, expand, secure and consolidate existing and new business
- Develop multiple-channel relationships with new customers (bridge builder)
- Contribute to the development of technical projects in alignment with Technical HQ in Italy
- Support the definition/identification of the customized product according to the needs of the application in terms of technical and regulatory aspects
- Make use of her/his understanding of the production phases to identify improvement opportunities within the product
- Support Management to define pricing strategies
- Communicate and update piece and value forecast & annual budget
- Keep up to date with products and competitors
- Gather orders supporting the achievement of both revenues and profit targets
- Communicate with Backoffice/Customer Service about any pricelist/offer revision that has been agreed for a certain Customer
- Support A/R in collecting cash
- Understand and interpret customer’s technical needs through the La Leonessa lens
- Prepare technical training/presentation to respond to and communicate with the customer about their technical requirements
- Manage autonomously time to maximize face to face time with customers (Purchasing / Engineering / Accounting / Marketing)
- Originate requests to manufacture new products or modify existing ones
- Regularly follow up on open/pending request, projects and offers
- Keep under control the situation at each given customer in terms of Sales & Orders, Profitability, Price history, Product history, Payment, Open claims
- Propose marketing activities aimed at building brand awareness
