How You'll Make a Difference:
Responsible for charge reconciliation activities and researching charge capture issues for professional charges. Provides support to revenue cycle operations.
Performs charge reconciliation by reviewing and verifying patient charges captured in the billing or charge review system.
Reviews, analyzes and investigates discrepancies in charges. Makes requested and necessary changes for professional and hospital charges.
Assists in developing procedures that will utilize system capabilities. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations for system enhancements for charge capture functions.
Acts as a department resource regarding charge entry and charge capture. Assists the coding and/or billing department with more complex issues.
Assists in the extraction and manipulation of data to perform trend calculations and measure process or organizational performance. Extracts patterns from data to transform data into information.
Abstracts data accurately and timely for statistical analysis and review. May assist in the analysis of data, including developing charts, graphs and spreadsheets to display financial and statistical data.
Assists with revenue cycle projects or revenue cycle operational area such as cash posting, insurance follow up, physician coding missing documentation work queues, etc.
What it Will Take:
Licenses & Certifications
High School Graduate.
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 2 years of experience in health care, preferably revenue cycle operations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT and ICD 9 /10 coding.Proficient knowledge of billing procedures and overall revenue cycle operations.Excellent organization and prioritization skills. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytic skills, with a high attention to detail. Excellent computer skills including experience in using computer applications/ software/s systems. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) or similar products.
