The Tactical Intelligence Systems Group designs and develops novel machine learning algorithms and systems processing massive data sets to solve some of the most complex national security problems. We want energetic and creative individuals to develop computationally tractable algorithms and to implement corresponding software systems to analyze large and complex data. You will join a growing team of engineers and data scientists in a collegiate environment. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead a team of scientists and engineers researching and developing perception solutions for our support to the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) and other related AI efforts.
As a C4ISR Systems Engineer, you will...
Primarily apply sound systems engineering principles to data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning projects. Define operational problem statements and associated operational and technical system requirements. Support end-to-end test and evaluation activities.
Serve as Project Manager for data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other intelligence-related projects. Assume responsibility for project cost, schedule, and performance.
Work with the group's chief engineer to ensure research integrity, and development quality. Perform quality reviews, proposal reviews, and overview of publications and presentations by members of the section.
Research, design, implement, and test machine perception solutions across a wide range of sensor modalities.
Provide senior leadership for scientists and engineers by mentoring, coaching, and encouraging junior staff. Contribute to vision and goals, future improvements, strategic direction, and staff planning.
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have...
A Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience in DoD, Special Operations or Intelligence Community (IC) work in areas such as SIGINT, EW and Comms.
Ability to examine and analyze problems outside one's core area of expertise.
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong interest in performance based evaluation and technical management.
Prior experience with tasks associated with contingency operations, Special Operations Forces (SOF) and/or Asymmetric Warfare.
An active Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

A MS degree in Systems Engineering or closely related discipline, with at least 20 years of relevant technical experience in Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance and Military/Special Operations.
Experience with advanced Program Management, progressively increased leadership positions, and DIWIA Level III acquisition certification.
Experience working on and leading technology rapid fielding initiatives efforts for forward deployed forces.
