The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
This VP will be responsible for the planning and execution of key initiatives related to procurement operations and sourcing strategy. Specific areas of responsibility include oversight of all procurement and sourcing activities for direct materials, capital, indirect/MRO materials, services, and logistics support. In addition, the position has a key leadership role in the design and execution of procurement processes that ensure the overall goals of the organization, as defined by the CPO and Executive Office, are met.
Develop the procurement organization, set strategies that drive procurement best practices, achieve best value for the organization, which includes ensuring that a collaborativeevaluation is made of "fit for purpose", and low cost supply chain net value.
Builds, leads and develops an effective procurement team. Sets and monitors goals, targets and objectives for a team of sourcing and procurement professionals with an aim toward elevating overall performance. Creates an effective culture with best in class procurement and strengthens the talent pipeline.
Sets the direction, tone, and operating procedures that govern purchasing to assure compliance with laws, internal controls, financial terms and to manage risk associated to third party relationships and supply.
Builds credibility with internal and external stakeholders to ensure adoption of center-led sourcing and procurement. Ensures collaborative interaction to understand operational needs, while providing strategic thoughtleadership to overall business.
Interfaces actively with Finance executives to ensure that procurement practices meet all control and reporting objectives. Achieves an efficient procure-to-pay cycle cost.
Sponsors the evaluation and adoption of appropriate technologies, tools, and services that improve decision making, data integrity, and the operational procurement functional cost profile.
Stays abreast of relevant economic, industry, supply market, and business conditions. Updates strategy accordingly, and acts to assure adequate and competitive supply of critical products and services to support ongoing business and new initiatives.
Works with executives across Refining Operations, Corporate Staff Partners, and the company's Logistics Operations to ensure adequate resources are applied to meet sourcing objectives, contractual updates, and identify future opportunities or address urgent problems in the supply chain.
Ensures performance management systems are in place to drive alignment, including managing performance of both suppliers and sourcing personnel.
Communicates performance and opportunitis to executive leadership. Works with executive leadership to navigate the path forward to meet both short and long-term objectives.
Assists the CPO in evaluating and planning strategic initiatives, including developing complete category segmentation, channel strategies, and data/transactional platforms that meet the needs of the business.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
15 or more years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility in supply chain/sourcing roles.
Extensive experience managing and motivating large teams. Significant experience in executive communication.
Ability to motivate others to a high level of performance, and navigate across a large organization using influence to build relationships with customer organizations.
