This position will be reporting to the Feed Mill Manager and will support responsibility for the property, plant, equipment, and
Must possess Safety knowledge and application. Feed Mill operations preferred but will train on Mill operations. Must be willing to fill in when needed.
Coordinate and dispatch all loads to the farms, set up driver scheduling, and scheduling maintenance for the feed trucks/trailers/equipment.
Ability to train and supervise. Knowledge of FDA requirements, inventories, sampling, and mailing of samples. Computer, effective communication skills, customer service, and phone skills. Ability to perform with limited supervision and show initiative in maintaining operations.
Provide leadership, development, and supervision for clerical, dispatch, and delivery employees.
Direct supervision of all drivers.
Review and manage Ohio Drive Cam program including conducting coaching and/or disciplinary sessions with drivers when required.
Interview and hiring of drivers in partnership with Feed Mill Manager.
Conduct road testing for prospective driving candidates.
Manage on-boarding process with new drivers including drug testing, DOT requirements and company requirements.
Conduct regular monthly safety/DOT/company policy trainings with drivers and participate in facility Safety Committee.
Ensure that staff is trained to perform duties in a safe, efficient manner
Schedule all staff and manage employee time off requests
Coordinate with Feed Mill Manager to ensure department needs are met.
Coordinate with Garage Manager to ensure regular preventative maintenance and needed reactive maintenance of equipment.
Manage all fuel reporting and ordering for facility fuel station.
Ensure drivers stay up on their DOT requirements (random drug testing and recertifying medical cards)
Communicate daily with staff to ensure that delivery schedules are met and establish plans for efficient and effective ongoing feed delivery processes.
Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and local requirements.
Ensure the company’s assets and inventory are safe and secure
Adhere to all safety protocols and advocate a safe work environment
Directs and applies an effective safety program that includes monthly inspections and safety meetings.
Investigates, checks and reports on route, equipment, schedules and other conditions facing the driver.
Maintains close contact with the truck shop and acts as liaison between the driver and the shop.
