The Project Assistant (PA) serves as a trusted partner supporting the Managing Principal (MP) across all areas of responsibility. The PA will have the opportunity to partner directly with the MP daily across all areas of the organization. The PA is responsible for day-to-day support of the Managing Principal, as well as planning, executing and closing assigned projects. The duties will be approximately 40% administrative and 60% project management based. In this role, the PA will also provide limited administrative support to the VP of Strategy & Business Development. They will work closely with Senior and Lead Project Mangers in execution of their work. The PA must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be challenged by a role with the opportunity to:
Liaison with all areas of the organization.
Partner with MP to create and maintain operational excellence tied to strategic projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve Northwestern Benefits/OneDigital strategic plan.
Develop and implement action plans and complete project management duties as necessary to ensure successful completion of assigned projects within specified time frames.
Conduct research and analyses and interpret data related to assigned projects.
Support the MP by preparing for and participating in meetings with internal teams and external partners. Identify and track action items resulting from these meetings.
Record and distribute meeting notes, prioritize resulting projects, hold others accountable for completion of assigned tasks.
Coordinate appointments for the MP and VP as requested; includes but is not limited to, client calls and visits, team meetings and events, training, interview scheduling, and carrier meetings.
Provide clerical assistance to the MP and VP, to include monthly expense report management.
Coordinate travel for MP and VP.
Two or more years of project management experience
Two or more years of administrative or executive support experience
Two or more years of experience in employee health & welfare benefits preferred.
An earned Bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent).
Obtained or an interest in obtaining professional designations (i.e. RHU, REBC, CEBS, PMP).
Exceptional MS Office experience required. Expert level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is a must.
Positively influences the team members and builds good working relationships.
Excellent communication skills (listens, speaks, and writes well); able to interact effectively with people of various responsibility and authority (employees, key contacts, executives, etc.). Comfortable making group presentations.
Able to manage a multitude of details (including paperwork); stays proactive while juggling these issues.
Handles many simultaneous projects efficiently and effectively.
Operates in a fast-paced, energetic environment and welcomes change.

Physical Requirements/Miscellaneous to Achieve the Objective(s)
This position involves light lifting and transporting of boxes that may weigh up to 25 pounds each and be awkward to carry.
This position will require getting to and from client locations. For that, it is typically expected that one will maintain a valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle.
