AECOM is seeking a Planner I to be based in Arlington, VA.
This position is expected to begin in January 2021.

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Compile data and conduct research in support of project delivery
+ Create graphics to support the planning documents
+ Play a key role in the preparation of plans
+ Write sections of planning reports and documents
+ Produce material for project meetings and workshops
+ Participate in virtual or on-site workshops in support role
+ Communicate effectively with project team and manager
+ Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.
+ Reviews or assists in the review of site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.
+ Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
+ Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or other related field
+ Due to the nature of the job, U.S. citizenship is required.
+ Must have a valid Driver’s license
+ Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or other related field
+ Entry level to two years of related experience including internships
+ Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork
+ Exceptional writing, research, analysis and communication skills
+ Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
+ Effective problem solving and analytical skills
+ Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail
+ Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
+ Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layout
+ Follows guidance well with little oversight
+ Proficient with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
+ Proficient with Sketchup Pro or other 3D Modeling platforms
+ AICP certification (or certification track) preferred
+ LEED certification (or certification track) preferred
