The Commercial Aviation Business Development Capture Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Business Development (SVP, BD).

We are Seeking a strategically and operationally experienced Capture Manager to collaborate with the SVP, BD, to actively pursue and grow our presence in the commercial aviation market. This role will require a seasoned and accomplished leader with substantial business development and operational expertise along with proven performance within commercial aviation industries.

The CABD Capture Manager will develop priorities and action plans to meet company business growth goals in a balanced manner. In addition, the CABD Capture Manager is responsible for ensuring best-in-class business pursuits to achieve operating plan objectives.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Acts as an entrepreneurial business partner with the SVP, BD and corporate team, providing insights, recommendations, strategy, and business development thought leadership to assist competitive organic and strategic growth to help expand and broaden the business base.
Building mutually beneficial relationships with commercial organizations, conducting presentations, understanding customer needs and proposing cost benefit solutions, and identifying new opportunities
Proactively sourcing new customer opportunities through research and penetration into emerging markets.
Developing and Managing relationships and activities with new and existing agents with strong industry networks
Evaluate and conduct complex operational, financial and risk analyses of business opportunities.
Conduct business intelligence/analysis, develop and execute formal capture plans as part of cross-functional team, and monitor competitor activity for each capture.
Moving opportunities through the business development and proposal processes, collaborating with Vertex leadership, technical, financial, and contracts support personnel engaged in business capture and proposal development processes.
Presenting executive level presentations to Vertex leadership and maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions,
Attending value added trade shows and marketing events to develop strategic business leads
Extend the brand of ‘Vertex’ via, opportunities, and fostering corporate/community responsibilities
Following and updating sales strategy for the commercial aviation market
Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
Other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree 10+ years of B2B and technical sales in the aviation industry is required, preferably in Aviation Manufacturing, BA in Business or Engineering preferred
Experience in commercial aviation is required, military is a plus
Experience in commercial OEM business capture, strategy development, corporate teaming and proposal development
5+ years of Aviation Manufacturing and Part Sales
Ability to develop, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate executives and provide service excellence for all business development functions. Must quickly assimilate and establish themselves as a trusted partner to the leadership team. Demonstrates trust and respect for peers and others inside and outside of the organization. An innate and consummate team player who leads by example.
Strong sales skills with focus on needs, features/benefits and demonstrated past performance of winning commercial aviation business.
Complex problem solving, risk analysis and negotiation skills
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
Up to 75% travel required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S. citizenship.
