Full Job Description
HIAS seeks a Program Associate to provide programmatic support to the Reception and Placement (R&P) Program, to include engagement with HIAS headquarters support departments, HIAS Resettlement Affiliates across the country, U.S. National Resettlement Agencies (RAs) and other stakeholders that will ensure high quality and responsive refugee programming across the HIAS network. S/he is involved in all aspects of post-arrival R&P programming. Please be advised that the duration of this assignment is through November 30th, 2020; the possibility of an extension is based on funding.
Supports U.S. Programs staff including planning, monitoring, reporting, and implementing of the Reception and Placement (R&P) Program, which provides initial resettlement services to clients for up to 90 days after arrival into the U.S. through a network of 15 resettlement affiliates across the country.
The primary function of this position will be to create and implement a series of training modules on the Litmos platform, to provide a standardized training plan to affiliates that can be used when onboarding new R&P staff. Some modules may be adapted from previous HIAS trainings, and some will be created entirely by the Program Associate to cover topics as needed.
Supports Affiliate monitoring and partnership building site visits including visit preparation and communications, on-site monitoring, complementary program assessments, tracking findings and corrective actions, and follow-up with Affiliates. Maintains the R&P monitoring tool and updates when new guidance is received from U.S. Government.
Assists in formalizing Desk Audit/Remote Monitoring protocols and procedures and maintains the Remote Monitoring calendar to ensure relevant and appropriate follow up to recommendations are addressed in the required timeframe.
Supports the U.S. Programs team in preparation for federal agency headquarter monitoring as well as site visits from private funders.
Provides answers to R&P inquiries from U.S. Ties, clients and general public.
Carries out research in support of improved and expanded core and complimentary programming at HIAS headquarters and across the HIAS network.
Provides support for other pre- and post-arrival functions, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Undergraduate degree required.
Knowledge of U.S. Refugee Program required; previous work experience at a resettlement affiliate strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint and MS Teams, preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
Familiarity with the Litmos training platform strongly preferred.
Previous training experience desired.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. HIAS may request a writing sample.
Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain key relationships with program staff at HIAS affiliates and other national voluntary agencies.
Well-organized and detail-oriented; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Attentive to detail; self-starter able to manage and carry out varied functions of multi-faceted program.
Full status to work in the United States and willingness to provide employment verification as required.
