SSM Health Medical Group and St. Joseph Hospital in Historic St. Charles, MO are seeking an experienced general/trauma surgeon to join our established team in our Level II Trauma Center. This opportunity offers:

A well respected, physician led practice model

Weekend ED call of 1:6

Full spectrum of general surgery including laparoscopic and advanced laparoscopic procedures,

daVinci robotic system located at nearby DePaul Hospital

Large, solid referral base of employed and independent primary care physicians in the fastest growing area of the St. Louis region

Employment includes a competitive base salary, signing and retention bonuses for 2 years, followed by wRVU based compensation

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital is located in Historic Downtown St. Charles, MO. It is the only Level II Trauma Center in St. Charles, Warren, Lincoln and Montgomery counties. Pediatric emergency care is provided by Cardinal Glennon pediatricians. St. Joseph is a 333-bed hospital that provides a primary stroke center, heart and vascular services, neurosciences and the latest imaging and outpatient services.

Completion of a General Surgery Residency

Additional training in Trauma preferred, but not required

Board Certified in General Surgery

Missouri Medical License

DEA and ACLS certification

In addition to clinical skills, the candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism with an emphasis on integrity, a commitment to excellence, and ethical principles of clinical care. Also required are an ability to exercise confidentiality of patient information, informed consent, demonstration of respect, and regard for patient needs. All SSM physicians are expected to adhere to the basic SSM Health values of Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork, Service, and Initiative.

Computer literacy, including MS Excel and electronic communication skills are required. Physicians must be comfortable and proficient with EPIC electronic health record system, utilizing electronic tools such as email, mychart, PACS, LMS, etc. Timely completion of medical records is a requirement. Some weekends and extended hours may be required.
